Ikedo Sadaharu, a transfer student at Shiratake High School, quickly earns the nickname “Gorilla-Man” due to his intimidating appearance. Despite his fearsome looks, Ikedo’s true nature is misunderstood by his peers. The story humorously explores his attempts to fit into his new school, deal with bullies, and inadvertently gain respect, blending comedy with school life drama.
Won the 14th Kodansha Manga Award for general manga in 1990 (tied with Chinmoku no Kantai).
